Hunt the Slipper

The Chairman sits with his eyes closed while the slipper is passed around behind the teams backs. After a few seconds slipper passing, he calls out “Slipper search on” and then he will open his eyes. Obviously he has no idea where the slipper is with the teams should keep passing the slipper around secretly, and he will have to guess who has the slipper and challenge them by pointing and calling out “Slipper holder”. If he guesses correctly then the slipper holder must declare “Yes, slipper holder”.

And so it begins...

• CdM - It seems we have to play a prior game of "Hunt the Chairman" first.
• Tuj - Well, I guess we should wait for someone to volunteer, and if not ask the Ostrich ;)
• Darren - Or ask the slipper.
• Tuj - [Darren] Surely making the slipper the Chairman would make this incredibly difficult?
• Knobbly - Well, I don't mind being the slipper.
• Inkspot - Look, the Chairman is over there...*passes on the slipper*, oh! he's gone.
• Tuj - [Inkers] That was sly! Mind you, have you seen where you passed the slipper to? *puts slipper in Inkspot's back pocket*
• Mao Zedong - Political power grows out of the barrel of a slipper.
• Chalky - *places slipper in a very slippery place*
• Tuj - *votes Mao Zedong for chairman*
  [Chalky] I think it's slipped out.
• Botherer - *Slips slipper into slapper's supper*
• Mao Zedong - Hunt the Slipper is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. Hunt the Slipper is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another.
• Juxtapose - *carefuly removes the slipper from the supper and replaces it with a live grenade*
• Tuj - *uses distraction of fleeing dinner guests to hide slipper under a waiter's wig*
• Inkspot - *catches the slipper before it falls in the soup and attaches it to the back of Cdm's diner jacket
• Robin - *does not have the slipper, but fakes a pass to Tuj to add to the confusion*
• CdM - I have a dedicated jacket to wear to American roadside cafés? Who knew?
• Projoy - * retrieves the slipper and hurls it upward into the night sky, hoping it will suddenly turn into a spaceship. *
• Chalky - *spots a suspiciously slipper-shaped spaceship and reports it to the 'authorities' [whoever they might be]*
• penelope - *suspects Chalky of being in cahoots with Thos, who was on the phone to 'The Authorities' several times during the course of the recent Rugby Pilg. Wonders if The Authorities are also hunting the slipper*
• The Authorities - *are watching closely*
• The Slipper - *holds a geo-stationary orbit over Projoy's house*
• Inkspot - *Looks under table for missing table unable to see it and looks suspiciously at Tuj.*
• CdM - Wait. Are we playing hunt the table now?
  [Inkspot] Sorry. No typo goes unpunished; that's my motto
• Mao Zedong - In times of difficulties, we must not lose sight of our slippers.
• Kim - *consults table*
• Lib - *swiftly suruptitious slips another slipper in the significantly small slippery sepulchre*
• Botherer - *has been hiding the slipper for the last 16 moves which he now swiftly suruptitious slips into the swiftly suruptitiously slipped slipper Lib just swiftly suruptitiously slipped in the significantly small slippery sepulchre*
• Botherer - *Silently wishes he hadn't hidden the slipper so well*
• Lib - [Botherer] Looks like its just you and me love who know where the slippers are hidden in the significantly small slippery sepulchre. Wonder if anyone else even cares?
• Tuj - I do, but no matter how many slippery sepulchres I search I can't find it!
• Slipper - I'm not sure I like this game. It's dark in here and smells funny.
• Lib - Would taking the bull by the horns and stating Slipper search on! help proceedings at all?
• Tuj - *points at Lib* "Slipper holder!"
• Lib - *waves at Tuj* "Yes, slipper holder".
• Tuj - Yay!
• Audience - *shouts, screams generally goes wild for Tuj*
